NEW ECB Online Scoring Course

The ECB have just introduced the new ECB Online Scoring Course, and it is now available for registrations. The course is free to complete, and on completion of the course scorers will be offered free membership to the ECB Association of Cricket Officials (ECB ACO). This last point should be of particular note to those clubs in the Dorset Premier League structure, as it is a requirement for those clubs to have a minimum of two scorers that are members of the ECB ACO.

UMPIRE COURSES AND INFORMATION

ECB Umpire Course

The ECB Umpire Course is the official qualification for umpires and is designed to give new umpires the key skills, knowledge and confidence to stand as an umpire in cricket. No prior experience of umpiring in cricket is required before attending this course.

Preparing for the Dorset Cricket League Umpire Panel Training

For a qualified umpire to join the appointments panel and be appointed to Dorset Cricket League matches by the Dorset Association of Cricket Officials, they are required to have attended an umpire course that provides an umpire qualification, be a member of the ECBACO, and have attended the free 'Preparing for the DCL Umpire Panel' training.

Dorset Cricket, DACO and the Dorset Cricket League would like to invite you to an Umpires meeting on

Monday 19th January

7pm to 9pm

The meeting invite is open to ALL umpires or potential umpires, across any formats of the game.

The meeting will give the opportunity for:

- Dorset Cricket's new CEO, Andy Coleman, to communicate the Dorset Cricket strategic plan up to 2030

- DACO to outline the umpire pathway and support available

- Dorset Cricket League to outline the need for umpires in the league structure and the support available

- Communicate the development opportunities available to umpires and potential umpires through a working collaboration between the 3 organisations

- Umpires and potential umpires to give their feedback to the attending organisations

This is a great opportunity to get relevant information from these organisations and to provide valuable feedback to help shape the future of umpiring in Dorset.
